The West Indies Regional Nagico Super50 One-Day Tournament starts next Thursday, Jan. 15 in Trinidad & Tobago.

The eight teams in the tournament are divided into two groups. Group A is defending champions Barbados Pride along with the Combined Campuses & Colleges, Guyana Jaguars and the Windward Islands Volcanoes.

In Group B are Jamaica Franchise, Leeward Islands Hurricanes, Trinidad & Tobago Red Force and the West Indies Under-19s.

After a round-robin group stage, the top two teams from each group move to the semi-finals before the final which will be played Jan. 25.

In the opening round in Group A on Jan. 15, Barbados will play the Combined Campuses & Colleges at the National Cricket Centre, Couva, and Guyana takes on Windward Islands at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port-of-Spain.

The semi-finals and final will be played at Queen’s Park Oval on Jan. 22, 23 and 25.

The Guyana Jaguars lineup will be without the services of a few senior players like allrounder Narsingh Deonarine and skipper Leon Johnson who are with the West Indies team in South Africa. Assad Fudadin is on the injured list but veteran batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is included in the 14-man squad named.

The full squad: Christopher Barnwell (captain), Trevon Griffith, Shiv Chanderpaul, Rajendra Chandrika, Vishaul Singh , Jonathan Foo, Steven Jacobs, Royston  Crandon, Rayman Reifer, Anthony Bramble, Davendra Bishoo, Veerasammy Permaul, Paul Wintz and Ronsford  Beaton.

The Jamaica Franchise also named their 14-man squad: Nikita Miller (captain), Tamar Lambert, John Campbell, Jermaine Blackwood, Kkrumah Bonner, Andre Mc McCarthy, Danza Hyatt, Horace Miller, David Bernard Jr., Damion Jacobs, Marquini Mindley, Derval Green, Gavon Brown and Dennis Bulli.

Omitted from the squad is former West Indies wicketkeeper / batsman Carton Baugh who has been replaced by Horace Miller. Chris Gayle, Marlon Samuels and Andre Russell are with the West Indies team in South Africa.

The Leeward Islands 14-man squad:  Devon Thomas (captain), Shane Burton, Jason Campbell, Rahkeem Cornwall, Jahmar Hamilton, Montcin Hodge, Shane  Jeffers, Steve Liburd, Jeremiah Louis, Anthony Martin, Orlando Peters, Austin Richards, Lyndell Richardson and Gavin Tonge.

The Trinidad & Tobago Red Force team is expected to be strengthened with availability of several senior players: Dwayne Bravo, Kieron Pollard, Sunil Narine, Ravi Rampaul and Darren Bravo. The full squad is expected to be named shortly.

Meanwhile, Tagenarine Chanderpaul, 18, the son of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, along with Guyana and West Indies Under-19 batsman Shimron Hetmyer and allrounder Kemo Paul are expected to be included in the West Indies Under-19 squad which is also to be named shortly.

The Combined Campuses & Colleges along with the Barbados Pride and the Leeward Islands Hurricanes have yet to announce their teams.
