Exciting finish to local season

The Elite Division of the Toronto & District Cricket Association is heading for an exciting finish with just a few matches remaining this weekend.

The latest standings as of last weekend, defending champions Brampton Masters Tranzac CC has advanced to the number one spot in Conference 1 with 66  points from 14 games. Vikings CC has secured 61 points from 14 games and Islanders CC has slipped to third with 54 points from 15 games.

In Conference 2, Centurians CC ended their season with 61 points from their 16 games and Toronto CC has 60 points from 15 games  with one game remaining. Ontario Cricket Academy & Club is in third spot with 48 points from 15  games and one game remaining.

The playoff  format as of this year has been revised  with the top two teams from each conference advancing to the semi-final, the winner will automatically  qualify for the final and the loser will play the winner of the  two second place teams from each conference. The two winners will battle in the final for the 2013 Championship Title. The playoff is scheduled to start on September 21st at the Maple Leaf ground, King City

In the Scarborough Cricket Association Premier Division,  defending champions Hawaiian Artic CC  has moved to  the top in Conference A with 93 points from 12 games, followed by East-West CC with 84 points from 12 games. In Conference B  TP Tigers CC A is leading with 93 points from 11 games and Victoria Park CC is in second spot with 80 points from 11 games.
