Gayle set for Bangladesh Premier League

Chris GayleChris Gayle, the 36-year-old Jamaican and West Indies opening batsman, will join eight other West Indian players in the Bangladesh Premier League which starts next month.

The big hitting left-hander, rated as a world-class T20 batsman, was the first player to have scored a century in international Twenty20 cricket.

Gayle will play for Barisal Bulls alongside allrounder Kevon Cooper and opening batsman Evin Lewis from Trinidad & Tobago.

The other West Indian players for the Bangladesh Premier League are West Indies T20 captain Darren Sammy who will play alongside Trinidad & Tobago and West Indies batsman Lendi Simmons for the Rangpur Riders.

West Indies player Marlon Samuels, mystery off-spinner Sunil Narine, left-arm seamer Krishmar Santokie and fast bowling allrounder Andre Russell will turn out for Comilla Victorians.

The tournament is to run from Nov. 22 to Dec. 15 and will consist of six franchises with a total of 82 players of which 19 are overseas players.
