Jamaicans getting ready for Bacchanal 2017

KINGSTON, Jamaica  – Soca enthusiasts will be filing into Mas Camp in St Andrew on Saturday  for the start of the 2017 Bacchanal Jamaica season.

In addition, revellers will also be introduced to this year’s new and exotic costumes.

“Those present will also be introduced to the new partners, new theme, and other new, exciting elements that the season will be offering. Persons will be

seeing over 10 new costumes after which they will be uploaded online the following day,” Bacchanal Director Michael Ammar Jr

Deejays Richie RAS and Franco will not only be refreshing the audience with old favourites, but also newly released hits like

Technically by Destra Garcia and Farmer Nappy, Wine Up by Kes and Good Morning by Peter Ram for the 2017 season.

Live entertainment will be provided by Trinidadian soca songstress, Patrice Roberts.

“We have seen her perform before and she has always done a great job. So we are expecting another high-energy set from her on Saturday,” said Ammar Jr.

Among the hits Roberts is expected to perform are Ah Feeling Mehself; Old and Grey; Money D; and Oh Baby, a dancehall number with artiste, Busy Signal.

The sponsors -Pure Country, Smirnoff, Select Brands, Jamaica Observer, FAME, and Pepsi – are again on board for 2017.

The 2017 Bacchanal season will run for the usual eight weekends, beginning March 3 and ending on April 23.
