Ramdin, Bravo centuries crush Bangladesh

Denesh Ramdin and Darren Bravo recorded centuries as West Indies crushed Bangladesh by 91 runs and completed a 3-0 whitewash of the three-match one-day Internationls in the Dhaka Bank Cup Series last Monday, at Warner Park, Basseterre, St. Kitts.

Ramdin scored 169 and Bravo 124 – a record-breaking third wicket double century partnership of 258  the highest by a West Indies pair for any wicket. Ramdin’s 169 was highlighted by 11 sixes and eight fours off 121 balls, the highest score by a West Indies batsman in ODI at home.

West Indies choosing to bat first finished on 338 for seven wickets from their 50 overs, their highest total at home in ODIs. Al-Amin Hossain took four for 59. Bangladesh in reply ended their innings on 247 for eight wickets from their 50 overs with skipper Mushfiqur Rahim topscoring with 72 and opener Tamim Iqbal made 55. Ravi Rampaul took four for 29.
Denesh Ramdin was voted player of the match and the series.

Meanwhile, the West Indies Cricket Board”s Selection Panel last Sunday, named the 13-man squad for the one-off Dhaka Bank T20 against Bangladesh which was scheduled to be played on yesterday at Warner Park , St. Kitts.

The full squad: Darren Sammy (Captain) Sulieman Benn, Dwayne Bravo, Sheldon Cottrell, Andre Fletcher, Chris Gayle, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Andre Russell, Krishmar Santokie, Lendi Simmons and Dwayne  Smith.

Samuel Badree, the top-ranked T20 bowler in the world, is injured and was unavailable for selection.
