The Kingdom Choir, best known for its’ show- stopping performance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, is making its Canadian debut at Toronto’s George Weston Recital Hall, at Meridian Arts Centre (formerly the Toronto Centre for the Arts).
Led by one of the UK’s most respected gospel tutors and choir conductors Karen Gibson, described by the British press as “Britain’s godmother of gospel”; their rendition of “Stand By Me” topped Billboard’s U.S. Hot Gospel Songs chart following their performance at the Royal Wedding in front of an estimated global TV audience of 1.9 billion.
Formed of individual singers and performers from in and around London, England, The Kingdom Choir is a group of like-minded artists dedicated to creating a sound that demonstrates the community they share. After performing together for more than 20 years, the choir has become known for its united sound, warm energy and enthusiastic performances.
The debut recording “Stand By Me,” features 15 songs of love, hope, and inspiration including renditions of Beyonce’s “Halo,” John Legend’s “All Of Me,” Stormzy’s “Blinded By Your Grace Pt. 2” in addition to their renowned take on Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”
