Thousands of residents lined Bayly Street Ajax last Saturday to witness the town’s annual Santa Claus Parade, a festive spectacle that brought holiday cheer to children and adults alike.
The parade, which kicked off promptly at 6:00 p.m., transformed the streets into a glittering wonderland as the glow of illuminated floats lit up the night. Among the attendees were prominent figures, including MPP Patrice Barnes and MP Mark Holland, who waved to the crowds along the parade route.
Local businesses showcased their community spirit, with participants like a local dance academy and the Martial Arts School impressing the crowd. A highlight for Caribbean residents was the float by the Durham Community Action Group (DCAG), adorned with brightly coloured flags representing Caribbean islands, and a striking display by Code Ninjas featuring a massive ninja-themed balloon.
Adding a rhythmic touch to the evening, the Lions York Steel Orchestra delighted attendees with the sounds of steel pan music, energizing the festive atmosphere.
The parade concluded at Ajax Town Hall on Harwood Avenue, leaving spectators in awe of the dazzling displays and holiday joy that united the community for an unforgettable evening.
