Last Wednesday, at The Ruins at The University of the West Indies, Mona Campus, an evening of celebration unfolded as Appleton Estate marked the return of the Jamaica Rum Festival. The event, attended by industry stakeholders and specially invited guests, transformed a casual Wednesday into a memorable soiree.
Stefano Furini, Marketing Director at J Wray & Nephew Limited, set the stage for the festivities by providing an overview of the event and announcing a noteworthy partnership with Reggae Sumfest. “We are thrilled to host the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum Festival for its fifth edition,” he said. “This year’s festival holds special significance as we join forces with Reggae Sumfest to offer patrons an unforgettable experience showcasing the rich heritage of Jamaican rums.”
Scheduled for Thursday, July 18, 2024, at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay, the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum Festival will be integrated into the week-long lineup of activities for the annual reggae concert, Reggae Sumfest.
While maintaining its traditional format as a day-to-evening event featuring rum education seminars, delectable cuisine, and live performances, the festival will culminate in a unique twist. Attendees can anticipate the highlight Blitz concert, featuring both local and international acts such as the legendary Beenie Man, Walshy Fire from Major Lazer, and Brush1 and Franco, among others.
Thanks to the collaboration with Reggae Sumfest, patrons will enjoy double the entertainment value with one ticket granting access to both the rum festival and the Blitz concert at the same venue.
