The prime minister of Barbados, Freundel Stuart, will visit Toronto at a Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Barbados (Canada) annual fundraising event at Saints Peter and Paul Banquet Hall on Sept. 20.
“This event provides Barbadians and friends of Barbados with an opportunity to hear directly from Prime Minister Stuart about the government’s management of the economy, and progress of Barbados under his stewardship,” Reynold Austin, president of the DLP, Canada, told The Camera on Tuesday.
He noted that it will give Stuart a chance to interact closely with the Barbadian community living in Canada, hear their concerns and see how they can assist Barbadians at home.
“Many in the Barbadian community living in Canada are again looking forward to the prime minister’s return. It will be another most informative and enjoyable evening,” Austin said.
According to Austin, the DLP, Barbados, Canada, was founded in 2007 to provide a vehicle by which Barbadians residing in Canada can assist in enhancing the social and economic welfare of Barbadians in Barbados and foster community spirit among Barbadians in Canada.
“Its activities are carried out in keeping with the philosophy, principles and interests of the DLP.”
