Don’t pack those fancy Bermuda shorts away just yet. Come May 17th, Torontonians and Haligonians will have a new way to get to Bermuda with the launch of BermudAir.
Late last month, BermudAir announced its expansion into Canada with non-stop flights to Toronto and Halifax. The airline, just 7 months old, is already flying into the US; Toronto and Halifax will be their first Canadian destinations.
According to the OpenJaw US travel news service, “tickets are now on sale with special introductory fares available until April 10 starting at $199 USD one-way from Bermuda to Canada and $149 USD one-way from Canada to Bermuda, including taxes.”
The airline has identified increased demand for direct flights between Bermuda and Ontario and Nova Scotia.
“Toronto and Halifax are currently underserved, and this expansion aligns with our mission to provide year-round service, meeting the needs of both Bermudians and travelers from Canada,” said Adam Scott, Founder & CEO of BermudAir. His airline will operate 2,700 flights over a 12-month period, offering 178,000 seats that were not previously available to and from Bermuda.
BermudAir will operate one of its two Embraer E175 aircraft on the Canadian routes, featuring a dual-class cabin, with 14 seats in a business cabin and 52 seats in an economy cabin.
BermudAir’s network also connects the island nation with Boston, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore, Washington, and Orlando.
For a number of years, Air Canada has flown weekly flights to Hamilton, Bermuda, from Toronto. The flight duration is approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.
