Brampton Mayor launches 2018 School Cricket Tournament

More than one hundred young cricketers were present at the Brampton City Hall on Monday for the launching of the Mayor’s 2018 School  Cricket Tournament.

Joining Mayor Linda Jeffrey at the launch were Helen Berhane,chair of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants( CIMA) which organized the tournament, Jeffrey Orridge, senior vice president, community and partnerships, Canadian Tire Corporation and Peel School Board officials.

Schools in Brampton will compete in the Mayor’s 2018 cricket tournament for the Canadian Tire  Trophy.

At Monday’s launch, the Mayor and her guests presented young Brampton cricketers with awards of excellence for cricket during  2017.

Mayor Jeffrey also presented recognition scrolls to volunteer coaches
