Canada loses to Netherlands and Nepal

Canada lost its opening match in the ICC World Cricket League Division Two to the Netherlands last Saturday by 67 runs.

Netherlands scored 251 for seven wickets in their 50 overs. Canada in reply went all out for 184 in 46 overs.

In their second match against Kenya last Sunday, Canada won by 46 runs. Canada scored 257 for six wickets in their 50 overs. Kenya in reply made 211 all out in 48 overs.

In their third match last Tuesday, Canada lost to Nepal by seven wickets. Canada was all out for 114 in 49.2 overs. Nepal in reply scored 115 for three wickets in 23.1 overs.

As of last Tuesday’s match against Nepal, Canada sat at the bottom of the table on net run rate, with the bottom four teams all with one win. Nepal has two wins and host Namibia was unbeaten with three wins,

Points table: Namibia six, Nepal four, Kenya, Uganda, Netherlands and Canada two points each.

Canada had two remaining matches as of yesterday when they played Uganda, and tomorrow (Friday) when they host Namibia, which is leading the tournament. Canada must win these two matches to stand a chance of reaching the final.
