Canada lost five of their six matches of the ICC World Cup T20 Qualifier with the sixth and final one against Afghanistan last Saturday, abandoned due to heavy rain and without a ball being bowled, thus earning their only point of the tournament.
Canada finished at the bottom of the table in Group B with one point. They lost their opening match to Kenya by seven wickets, to Oman by seven wickets (D / L method), to United Arab Emirates by five wickets, to Scotland by six wickets, to the Netherlands by six wickets and their final against Afghanistan abandoned.
The final points table at the end of the 42nd match last Sunday:
Group A – Ireland eight points, Hong Kong seven, Namibia seven, Papua New Guinea seven, USA six, Jersey four and Nepal three.
Group A – Scotland eight points, the Netherlands eight, Afghanistan eight, Oman seven, Kenya seven, United Arab Emirates three and Canada one.
The first and second Qualifying Play-Offs were played last Tuesday with Afghanistan vs Hong Kong and
Namibia vs the Netherlands.
