CTFF kicks off its Sweet 16 Anniversary with a media launch on Thursday July 8th, 2021 at 7pm EST on CaribbeanTales-TV (CTTV) to announce this year’s festival programme. “It is going to be jam-packed with amazing Caribbean and Canadian content,” exclaimed Diana Webley, CTFF Director. “In fact, 50% of our filmmakers will be Canadian. It’s really all about celebrating ourselves and our stories at home in Canada and because we are virtual again this year, we are able to showcase it to the world.”

The other 50% of CTFF films comes from Martinique, Trinidad and Tobago, Curaçao, Barbados, Puerto Rico, Netherlands, South Africa, Dominican Republic, France, Aruba, United States and the United Kingdom.
Hosted by Up From The Roots poet Dwayne Morgan, the media launch will feature a sneak peek at award-winning film Akilla’s Escape (Canada, 2020) followed by a talkback with the film’s star Donesha Predergast and critically acclaimed director Charles Officer.
