Kempinski Hotels and Grupo de Turismo Gaviota have signed a management contract for Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski, the first five-star luxury resort complex in Cuba.
Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski is currently under construction and is scheduled to open later this year.
“After having successfully introduced our city hotel, Gran Hotel Manzana Kempinski La Habana almost two years ago, we will complement our offer and will soon provide exclusive luxury in a beach resort, Cayo Guillermo Resort Kempinski,” said Carlos Miguel Latuff Carmenate, executive president of Grupo de Turismo Gaviota.
“We are delighted to be able to partner again with Kempinski Hotels,” he said.
The highlight of the 245-unit hotel in Cayo Guillermo will be a collection of six overwater villas, all of which will have private pools.
The property will be set directly on Playa Pilar beach.
It will be one of three Kempinski hotels in the Caribbean, with Kempinski set to debut its first hotel on the island of Dominica later this year,
The all-new resort hotel in the paradisiac location of Cayo Guillermo, approximately 500 kilometres east of Havana, will offer the brand’s discerning guests an experience of exclusivity and privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the tropical island’s capital city.
Cuba’s first non-all-inclusive resort hotel will become the luxury hideaway from the crowds.
The hotel offers a uniquely refreshing and authentic experience, inspired by Ernest Hemingway’s legacy and love for the Cayo, reimagined for the contemporary traveller.
The ample yet human-sized resort will be built like the bow of a boat advancing into the Atlantic Ocean.
Surrounded by a breath-taking natural landscape and extensive gardens, it will offer 245 rooms and suites.
