England opened their tour of the Caribbean with a two-day warm-up match against a St. Kitts & Nevis Invitational XI that ended in a draw on Tuesday at Warner Park, Basseterre, St. Kitts.
The England team dominated the tour match against a rather weak opposition as the St. Kitts XI elected to bat first were skittled out for a paltry 59 with Jason Peters topscoring with 22. Ben Stokes took three for 10 and Stuart Broad and Chris Jordon took two wickets each.
England in reply piled up 379 for six wickets with skipper Alastair Cook retired out on 101 and fellow opener Jonathan Trott made 72.
St. Kitts in their second innings were 76 for seven at the close of play with Akeem Saunders undefeated on 20. James Tredwell took three for 35.
The two teams played a second warm-up match before the first Test between the West Indies and England which starts on Monday (April 13) at Vivian Richards Stadium, North Sound, Antigua.
