Grenada’s Kirani James wins gold at Xiamen Diamond League

Kirani James from Grenada placed 1st in the Xiamen Diamond League 2023. He secured a gold medal in men’s 400m with a season-best 44.38 Saturday.

James was followed by Quincy Hall from the USA, who placed second in the league with 44.38. At the same time, Rusheen McDonald from Jamaica finished third with 44.8.

On his victory, Kirani James expressed pleasure and said he gave his best.

With an impressive time of 44:38, Jameds has secured his place as a world-class runner and a source of pride for his home country.

James celebrated his 31st birthday on September 1, 2023. This victory is regarded as the birthday gift for James.

Kirani James secured impressive victories previously in several championships. He bagged the 400m at the World Championships in 2011, the 2012 London Olympics and Pan American U20 Championship.

Notably, he was the first Grenadian ever to win an Olympic gold medal. Besides this, he also won silver medals and bronze medals in the Olympics and Commonwealth Championship.
