Caribbean Tech Alliance Boosts Guyana’s Digital Push
A new cross border business alliance linking Guyana and Jamaica has been launched as regional firms move to position themselves at the centre of accelerating digital change and rising cybersecurity demands.

Guyana’s Beharry Group and Jamaica’s Amber Group have formally agreed to establish a joint venture technology company, Beharry-Amber Technologies Inc., aimed at delivering integrated IT and cybersecurity services to both public and private sector clients. The agreement brings together two long established Caribbean enterprises at a moment when Guyana’s expanding economy is placing unprecedented pressure on digital systems and data security.
The partners say the venture is designed to respond to a growing gap in Guyana’s technology ecosystem, where rapid economic growth and government led digital transformation initiatives have created demand for a locally based provider with the scale and expertise to deliver comprehensive solutions. The new company is expected to offer end to end services spanning infrastructure, systems integration and cybersecurity, with the capacity to serve domestic needs while also targeting regional markets.
Suresh Beharry, chairman and chief executive officer of the Beharry Group, described the agreement as timely and necessary. “Guyana is at a pivotal stage of its development where digital infrastructure and cybersecurity are no longer optional,” he said. “Our objective is to support the country’s modernisation by building technology capabilities that are strong, reliable and prepared for the future.” He said Amber Group was selected because of its delivery track record, technical depth and shared commitment to long term regional development.
Dushyant Savadia, founder and chief executive officer of Amber Group, said the collaboration extended beyond commercial considerations. “This partnership represents a shared commitment to Guyana’s growth, resilience and technological advancement,” he said. He noted Beharry Group’s longstanding contribution to national development and said the joint venture would help strengthen digital infrastructure, improve cybersecurity readiness and support the demands created by rapid economic expansion.
Guyana’s emergence as one of the fastest growing economies globally has been driven by rising investment in energy, infrastructure, financial services and public sector modernisation. Against that backdrop, the partners say the timing of the agreement reflects strategic alignment with national priorities, particularly the government’s focus on digital transformation and secure technology systems.
Built on strong local foundations and supported by international expertise, Beharry-Amber Technologies Inc. is expected to play a central role in enabling innovation, improving security standards and enhancing operational efficiency across Guyana, while also extending its reach into the wider Caribbean.
