The presidential and prime ministerial candidates of Guyana’s recently formed coalition party will be in Toronto to meet and share their vision of Guyana with members of the Diaspora.
Guyanese go to the polls to cast their ballots in the national and regional elections on May 11.
Retired Guyana Defence Force Brig.-Gen. David Granger and former long-time People’s Progressive Party (PPP) executive member Moses Nagamootoo, who represent the coalition party, A Party for National Unity (APNU) and Alliance For Change (AFC) respectively are scheduled to be at the Elite Banquet Hall, 1850 Albion Rd. on Sunday, April 19 between 1:30 and 6 p.m.

According to organizers, arrangements were being made to host the party officials in Pickering but they decided to look for a location that would accommodate a larger number of supporters.
The event will include a brunch and entertainment.
The two political parties, the PPP/C and APNU, recently launched their campaigns with each trying to convince the electorate why their party is better than the other.
A member of the organizing team told The Camera, “We are at a very important point in our country’s history. We have a chance to unite our people and we will do our best in this effort.”
Granger was defeated by Donald Ramotar, presidential candidate of the PPP/C in the November 2011 general election. He was unanimously elected as Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly on Jan. 16, 2012.
