Miami Swim Week, which kicked off at the end May, was electrified by the debut of Haitian Doll designs by Jo Bella, showcased at The Shows at SLS South Beach. Founded by Johanne Brazela, Haitian Doll by Jo Bella, a prominent New York City-based fashion brand, fuses Haiti’s rich cultural tapestry with the dynamic spirit of New York City through its swimwear collections.
Born and raised in Haiti, Brazela immigrated to the United States as a teenager alongside her siblings and mother. Her lifelong passion for fashion and beauty propelled her through challenges, culminating in the creation of Haitian Doll by Jo Bella. Amidst the lockdown, Brazela committed herself to realizing her swimwear aspirations, earning contracts for prestigious fashion shows including Miami Swim Week within a year.
The latest collection from Haitian Doll by Jo Bella exudes meticulous craftsmanship and versatility. Ranging from sleek sophistication to bold feistiness, each piece encapsulates the essence of both New York City’s urban flair and Haiti’s cultural richness. By seamlessly blending diverse design elements, the collection not only delights aesthetically but also serves as a tribute to individual stories and experiences woven into fashion choices. This showcase at Miami Swim Week marked a significant milestone for Jo Bella and Haitian Doll, celebrating diversity in design and culture through compelling fashion narratives.
