Hezron brings soulful reggae to Ottawa’s Rainbow Bistro

Jamaican reggae singer Hezron Clarke made his long-awaited debut in Ottawa with a stirring performance at the historic Rainbow Bistro, leaving a wave of soul, rhythm, and connection in his wake.
As part of his 2025 Canada Tour, Hezron delivered an unforgettable live set that showcased his signature blend of rich vocals, heartfelt storytelling, and magnetic stage presence. Performing hits such as Forever and Always, Man on a Mission, and the sultry fan-favorite Tik Tok (I’m Coming), Hezron captivated the audience from the first note.
One of the evening’s most memorable moments came when a lucky fan, winner of a promotional giveaway, was serenaded live by the artist with his latest single, Blame It on the Wine. The performance also celebrated the launch of Hezron’s limited-edition wine and tour merchandise, adding a personal touch to an already vibrant night.
Leading up to the concert, Hezron spent the weekend immersed in Ottawa’s cultural landscape. On Saturday, he appeared on CHUO 89.1 FM’s Black on Black with Sarah Onyango and Adrienne Coddett, followed by a live studio session with Papa Richie on Rockers, and a guest DJ appearance with Junior Smith on CKCU 93.1 FM. It marked the first in-person meeting between Hezron and two longtime supporters, Papa Richie and Junior Smith, following years of remote interviews and connections.
Hezron’s Ottawa visit was filled with moments of warmth and cultural exchange, from an island-style BBQ upon arrival to a Caribbean dinner at Island Flava and rehearsals with Ottawa’s Roots Movement Band ahead of the show.
Opening acts at the Rainbow Bistro included Toronto-based Pencil and Sillasky Music, along with the Roots Movement Band. DJ Hypnotxsound kept the energy high between sets, while giveaways of Appleton Estate and Captain Bligh rum, Hezron’s exclusive wine, and tour T-shirts added to the festive atmosphere.
The event was presented by BrandingByWeekes and DreamMakers Entertainment, two organizations committed to elevating diverse voices through music, media, and community.
With the resounding success of his Ottawa debut, fans are already looking ahead to Hezron Live 2026, with plans in the works for an even larger show. A future performance at the NAC Fourth Stage seems not only possible but fitting for an artist whose music continues to uplift and inspire.
