The prestigious Impact Awards, an event dedicated to recognizing outstanding contributions to the community, will hold its 3rd edition on October 19, 2024, at Memorial Hall in Toronto. This year’s ceremony, made possible by generous sponsors and dedicated organizers, promises to bring together a diverse and appreciative audience.
The Impact Awards extends heartfelt gratitude to its new presenting sponsor, the Toronto Community Benefits Network (TCBN), led by Rosemarie Powell. TCBN has supported the event in the past, and their mission to create more jobs and opportunities for historically disadvantaged communities and equity-seeking groups is truly commendable. Their framework aims to empower local, diverse-owned businesses and social enterprises. TCBN also presents the Canadian Building Diversity Awards, the premier event celebrating diversity, equity, and inclusion across Canada, held annually in Toronto.
Other vital supporters include Dr. Gervan Fearon, President of George Brown College (GBC), and his team, who are returning to play a pivotal role in ensuring the event’s success. Their unwavering support helps foster the next generation of Black and Caribbean leaders.
The Carpenters Union, represented by Joel Kitaka, is back for the third consecutive year, reinforcing their commitment to supporting the Black and Caribbean community. Their ongoing dedication significantly contributes to the event’s success.
Additionally, the Impact Awards expresses gratitude to WEDO.ca, Roti Roti, and Island Spice Flava for their exceptional support services during the event.
This year’s Impact Awards will highlight the remarkable individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact in the community.
