Jamaica-born Senator Rosemary Moodie appointed to the Order of Ontario

Senator Rosemary Moodie has been appointed to the Order of Ontario , the province’s  highest honour, for individual excellence and achievement.

Elizabeth Dowdeswell, Liutenant governor of Ontario and Chancellor of the Order of Ontario, made the announcementt  recently.

Moodie who was born and grew up in Kingston , Jamaica,has been practicing as a neonatologist at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto for over 24 years, and is an associate professor of pediatrics at the University of Toronto.

She has also completed an MBA at the University of Toronto and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration at Queen’s University.

Moodie has provided leadership to many health organizations and projects, including the development of Canada’s largest affordable housing project for low-income women.
