Jamaican boy drowns at Sandbanks provincial park

A seven-year old  Jamaican boy was  found drowned in the waters off  Dunes beach in Sandbanks Provincial Park on Saturday.

The boy, Javaughn Black, was visiting Canada with his mother and sister, and  was  at the beach in South-eastern Ontario with family members.

According to media reports, he was initially reported missing but was later found in the water un-responsive and without evident vital signs. He was rushed to hospital but could not be revived.

A GoFundMe page has been set up by family friends to cover the expense of transporting Javuaghn’s body back to Jamaica.

The family had set a fund-raising target of (Canadian)$10,000 but  according to media reports, that figure has already been surpassed.
