JCA Walkathon

After a three-year hiatus, the “Walk Good” Walkathon, a major fundraising event organized by the Jamaican Canadian Association (JCA), will be back on the road on May 7, starting at 9.30 a.m.

This year’s event – the 41st annual –will commence, as usual, at the JCA Centre, 995 Arrow Road in Toronto.

Participants can join one of two routes – the five kilometer or the ten kilometer.

Several “community partners” and some of the lifetime members of the JCA are expected to take part in the event.

“This year, we are also including a health fair at the Walkathon and will have our community health partners in attendance to share health information and complete wellness checks,” Michelle Davis, the JCA Fundraising Director, told The Caribbean Camera.

“Members of the Ardenne Alumni Association will be walking with us to raise funds for their high school in Jamaica and students from the JCA Saturday Morning Tutorial Program along with their families will also be joining us,” Davis said.
