This week, Amazon’s Upfronts unveiled Prime Video’s Canadian streaming lineup at their recent Toronto event for the 2026/27 fall and winter television season. This season’s lineup features a strong mix of new Canadian originals, returning fan favourites, and high-profile international productions.

One of the most intriguing new Canadian projects is Hometown Giants. A six-part documentary series featuring Canadian entertainer Michael Bublé and Drew Scott. Watch as they navigate life as part-owners of the Vancouver Giants junior hockey team. The series promises an inside look at the pressures, sacrifices, and dreams of young athletes chasing their dream and a future in the NHL.

Reality television fans will also have something new to watch with Surrender (working title), hosted by Scott McGillivray. The survival competition series places strangers in the Canadian wilderness and appears designed to test not only physical endurance but also decision-making under pressure.

Prime Video is also diving deeper into true crime with The Pig Farm Killer: Robert Pickton, a three-part documentary examining one of Canada’s most notorious serial murder cases. Through new interviews and archival material, the series explores how Pickton evaded authorities for years while women disappeared from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.

French-language programming continues to be an important part of Prime Video’s Canadian strategy. Complètement dans le champ (Heels in the Hay) follows social media influencers as they trade city life for rural living in a competition for a cash prize. At the same time, Opération déception (Operation Deception) revisits a controversial criminal case that led to a Quebec student being sent to death row in Thailand.

Returning favourites are also making a comeback. The popular comedy competition LOL: Qui Rira Le Dernier? returns for a fifth season, while a special Halloween edition promises a spooky twist on the familiar format.

Young Farts Trailer Parts will make its long-awaited premiere this summer. The show follows Alberta brothers Jagger and Dawson Glowatsky. The brothers turn salvaged RV parts into a thriving, entertaining business. The show is equal parts entrepreneurship and chaos; the reality series is poised to become one of the year’s most entertaining Canadian unscripted offerings.

Beyond Canada, Prime Video’s global lineup is stacked. Fans are excited for the return of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power Season Three. Also, the highly anticipated adaptation of God of War. The Michael B. Jordan-produced Muhammad Ali drama The Greatest. Also returning hits such as Fallout and Reacher.

With the arrival of NBA coverage on Prime Video, it’s clear that the Service is positioning itself as more than just a streaming television service. For Canadian viewers, Prime Video’s 2026/2027 season offers a little bit of everything: sports, comedy, true crime, reality television, and epic franchise storytelling.
