Lisa Dublin to deliver keynote address at St Lucia Independence Gala

The St Lucia Independence Gala, hosted by emcees Shirin Tobi-Paul and McNaughton McLean with DJ Toxic, will be held at Sts. Peter and Paul Banquet Hall located at 231 Milner Ave, Scarborough, on March 4, 2023. The Gala kicks off with a Cocktail hour at 6pm; the ceremony starts at 7pm.

Featured artist Ezra D’Fun Machine, Carlton Roberts and Regis “Robbie” Calixte.  Lisa Dublin will deliver the keynote address.

Dublin who grew up in Castries, Saint Lucia, and immigrated to Alberta, Canada with her family in 2013.

While in Saint Lucia, she lectured at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College, and also hosted a live morning television program called Sunrise on HTS.

She is a performance poet, having won the M&C Fine Arts Award for Prose in 2003, as well as the Word Alive Poetry Slam competition in Saint Lucia in 2008 and 2011. She published her first chapbook of poetry in 2013, and a novella in 2017 titled How George Jones Saved Christmas. In 2020, she produced a performance piece called To All The Girls, which has garnered thousands of views on YouTube and Facebook.

Lisa is a certified health and life coach who helps immigrant, professional and executive women to overcome personal and professional struggles so that they can enjoy all round success.

She also runs an online speaking program called Speak with Confidence that helps professionals and business people to overcome fear and present their best selves while speaking.
