Logie to coach Canada's ICC team

Cricket Canada last week announced a 15-man squad for next month”s ICC World Twenty20 Qualifier.

 

The team will be led by the experienced middle-order batsman/wicketkeeper Ashish Bagai.

 

The 16 teams participating in the tournament have been divided into two groups with last year”s winner, Ireland, in Group A alongside Canada, Hong Kong, Italy, Namibia, Uganda, USA and host United Arab Emirates, while Group B comprises of Afghanistan, Bermuda, Denmark, Netherlands, Nepal, Kenya, Papua New Guinea {PNG} and Scotland.

 

The top six sides in the tournament will qualify for the ICC World Twenty20 2014 scheduled to be held in Bangladesh in March/April next year.

 

The Canadian squad will be engaged in a 10-day training camp in Sri Lanka and a few practice matches before the tournament, which starts November 15th and runs until November 30th.  Their opening match of the tournament is against USA  on Friday, November 15th at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi.
