Love & Chutney Bollywood Extravaganza brings the heat to Mystic Restaurant

Mystic Restaurant in Brampton was transformed into a cultural hotspot as the “Love & Chutney Bollywood Extravaganza” took centre stage there last Saturday night.

From toddlers to elders, the evening felt like a full family reunion with music, food, and dance woven together to celebrate Desi-Caribbean pride.

Hosted by De Unstoppable DJ Navi, a household name in the city’s chutney and soca scene,the event served up non-stop energy from start to finish.

Known for bringing the vibes wherever he goes, Navi made sure the night flowed smoothly and full of spirit.

Mystic kept everyone well fed and refreshed with signature dishes and cocktails, while the stage lit up with performances from some of chutney’s finest: Satnarine Ragoo, Arianna Thackurdeen, Omesh Singh and The Wave Band, Dubraj Persad, Rakesh Yankarran, and Amit Sagram.

Dubraj Persad brought the crowd to life with his timeless anthem “Gunga Ghana”, while Rakesh Yankarran sent waves of nostalgia through the venue with his hit “Mousie”.

You could feel the passion in the room from the crowd that came not just to hear music. There were whistles, bottles knocking, and hands waving in the air as fans danced in celebration of a culture that refuses to be quiet.

When the stage wasn’t graced by artists, the rhythm didn’t stop. DJ Fess, De Unstoppable JR, Tricky, and DJ Dean took turns keeping the crowd moving with tunes that blended Bollywood, chutney, and crossover soca favourites. A special moment came with a dynamic performance by Ash Dance School, whose performers dazzled the audience with grace and energy — a reminder of how deeply rooted is this music and culture.
