Reigning Road March and Power Soca Monarch winner Machel Montano has been nominated for Soul Train’s Best International Performance Award, competing among many other international artists with his 2014 hit Ministry of Road.
Mr. HD, no stranger to the Soul Train family, was first nominated in 2011 in the category of Best Caribbean Performance with his track Bend Over. He was also nominated in 2013 for Best International Performance for his hit The Fog. However, it was the Viking of Soca, Bunji Garlin, who copped T&T’s first Soul Train Best International Performance Award last year.
Other Soul Train nominees competing in the category of Best International Performance for 2014 include Norwegian duo Nico & Vinz with Am I Wrong and English singer Sam Smith with Stay with Me.
The 2014 Soul Train Awards will take place in Las Vegas on Friday, Nov. 7. The awards will be aired on Centric and BET on Sunday, Nov. 30.
