New Beginnings Support Program needs your support

Make every day Giving Tuesday

New Beginnings

Giving Tuesday is a day of generosity aimed at giving back to communities. This day is celebrated after Black Friday and Cyber Monday to encourage corporations to share their profits, and to remind people to give during the holiday season. New Beginnings depends on community donations to help our clients transform their lives.

This Giving Tuesday please consider donating to an organization that emphasizes the economic empowerment of women. New Beginnings Support Program embodies this empowerment in three distinct ways which help women escape poverty.

First, we work with BIPOC and marginalized women to build life and employability skills like confidence, self-esteem, leadership, and communication. Building these skills allows women to gain a voice, agency, and provide meaningful contributions in economic decision-making.

Second, New Beginnings gives women an opportunity to pursue higher education through the Business Office Technology certificate from Humber College. This free certificate program increases economic empowerment for women by increasing earning potential and the freedom to select a sustainable career path.

Finally, we empower women by helping them attain paid internships and long-term employment. Helping women attain sustainable employment creates more inclusive economies, increases productivity, and contributes to income equality. In short, by investing in the future of women, New Beginnings is positively contributing to economic growth which will benefit our clients and the community.

New Beginnings is asking our community to donate $10,000 to develop our Christmas Care Packages. Your donation of just $300 will help us give gift cards so our clients can afford groceries and basic needs that will support themselves and their children (i.e., diapers, formula, medications).  On average New Beginnings spends $340 per client every 3 months – which translates into $1360 per client annually. With a gift of $300 you are helping New Beginnings cover 88% of our cost for the Christmas Care package and ensuring that the women get a chance to put warm food on the table for the holidays.

So please remember to donate to our Christmas Care package on November 29th, 2022 and help us reach our goal for Giving Tuesday.

New Beginnings Support Program (NBSP) is the only charity in its category that offers a year-long women’s employment and economic empowerment solution free of charge to women aged 18-39 in Toronto.  If they demonstrate a strong desire to escape poverty and are currently unemployed and on social assistance or live in a shelter, they receive a warm welcome and hold your hand support for their journey out of poverty. Program participants come from a diverse background and include women who identify as BIPOC, refugees or those who have aged out of the foster care system.
