OCPA Unveils New Board of Directors for its 42nd Year

The Organization of Calypso Performing Artistes (OCPA), a registered non-profit arts organization with a rich 42-year history, is pleased to announce the election of its new board of directors.

Henry (King Cosmos) Gomez

As OCPA continues to evolve, we are actively seeking dedicated volunteers with expertise in marketing, fundraising, and sponsorships to join our dynamic board. In January, the board will publicly unveil OCPA’s ambitious plans for 2024.

The newly elected board members are as follows: Henry Gomez – President, Roger Gibbs – Vice-President, Tara Gonzalez – Treasurer, Ken Sosa – Secretary, John Mills – Public Relations/Marketing, and Ossie Gurley – Entertainment Director

Founded in 1981, OCPA’s mission has been to foster the growth and development of Calypso in Toronto and throughout Canada. Our year-round program includes an exciting lineup of concerts, workshops, seminars, and special events that showcase both Canadian and international Calypso and Soca artists.

At OCPA, our affairs are overseen by a dedicated volunteer Board of Directors, and we take pride in being one of the primary stakeholders of the Toronto Caribbean Carnival, one of North America’s largest and most vibrant Caribbean festivals.

We look forward to a fruitful year ahead and invite all passionate individuals to join us in shaping the future of Calypso and the arts in our community. Together, we’ll make 2024 an unforgettable year for OCPA and its supporters. Stay tuned for more updates!
