
Durham Region Health Department is urging anyone who attended a wedding on Sept. 19 last at the Caribbean Cultural Centre in Oshawa, to contact the Health Department as soon as possible
The Health Department has been notified of eight cases of COVID-19 associated with this event and is having difficulty obtaining a full list of attendees and their contact information.
Approximately 50 guests and eight to 10 staff and volunteers attended wedding. As a result of the eight positive cases of COVID-19, an outbreak has been declared at this event.
Health Department officdis are also in contact with two local workplaces that have been impacted by this situation.
“We are reaching out through the media to help us make contact with anyone who may have attended this event,” said Dr. Pepi McTavish, Durham Region Assistant Medical Officer of Health. “It is very important that individuals who participated in this wedding contact us as soon as possible to allow Health Department staff to provide appropriate follow-up.”
