At the end of the second round of the West Indies Regional 4-Day Tournament which ended last Monday, Jamaica lead the points standings- Jamaica 35 points, Leeward Islands 20, Windward Islands 20, Barbados 19, Trinidad & Tobago 16, Guyana 06 and the Combined Campuses & Colleges 04.
The results of round two games, defending champions Barbados defeated host Guyana by 136 runs. Trinidad & Tobago beat the Windward Islands by 186 runs and Jamaica defeated the Leeward Islands by 3 wickets.
Round three matches of the tournament starts this Thursday March 13- 17th, with the following matches. Guyana vs the Windward Islands in Guyana, Combined Campuses & Colleges vs Barbados in Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago vs the Leeward Islands in Trinidad.
Meanwhile, Shivnarine Chanderpaul the veteran West Indies batsman who has played more Tests for the West Indies than any other player, will lead the Guyana team in their third round match. Chanderpaul and Ramnaresh Sarwan missed the first two games. Sarwan however is still uncertain of playing due to a back injury.
In the Barbados line-up, former national captain Kirk Edwards along with his West Indies team-mate , fast bowler Jason Holder have been included in their 13-man squad for their third match. They have replaced all-rounder Kenroy Williams and pacer Miguel Cummins who are on the injury list.
