Prime Minister Philip J. Pierre is set to join the Saint Lucian community in Toronto for a grand celebration of the 45th Anniversary of Independence on March 9th. The Saint Lucia Toronto Association (SLTA), under the auspices of The Consulate General of Saint Lucia, is hosting a Gala to mark this momentous occasion.

The 45th Independence Gala, themed “Douvan Ansanm: Building a Nation through Unity, Resilience, and Creativity,” promises an evening of celebration, national pride, and cultural richness. The event is scheduled to take place at the Luxe Convention Centre in Mississauga, with a cocktail reception kicking off at 6:00 PM, followed by a ceremony, entertainment, and an after-party.
Guests will be treated to a culinary journey curated by the talented chefs at Hyatt Place Toronto, featuring exquisite Hors D’Oeuvres prepared by Saint Lucian chefs from Toronto. An open bar will cater to varied tastes, ensuring that guests’ thirsts are quenched throughout the evening.
The gala will showcase lively performances that highlight the rich heritage of Saint Lucia, including Masquerade and Quadrille dances. Live entertainment will be provided by artists such as Imran Nerdy, Robbie, Smallz with Spoken Word, Bryan Huntley and Friends, and DJ Jesse.
The highlight of the evening will be the presence of Saint Lucia’s Prime Minister, Philip J. Pierre. In addition to his keynote address, awards will be presented by various groups, including the Saint Lucia Toronto Association (SLTA), the Saint Lucia Young Leaders in Canada (SYLC), and the Consul General of Saint Lucia in Toronto.
