The Carnival Season in Toronto is going to end with a laugh! A couple of GTA comics take to the stage on Monday for an evening show of Trinidadian humour.
The T&T Picong Show will take place August 5th at 8pm. It is being held at the Absolute Comedy Club in Midtown Toronto (Yonge and Eglinton) and will star Marc Trinidad and Sterling Scott!
“Mother Hen and her cocks guarantee to laugh your belly out,” explains actress Rhoma Spencer, the host of the comedy evening. “It is Caribbean comedy at its best”.
Marc Trinidad came to Toronto 20-years ago and almost immediately became one of the country’s most in-demand stand-up comedian. He is based in the GTA and performs across Canada as well the Netherlands, the UK, the US and the Caribbean. His unique island man swagger with razor sharp Canadian wit and timing routinely shocks fans.
Sterling Scott originally lived and worked in Toronto, is now based in Edmonton. He recently was featured in a Global TV national news item because of a July incident in British Columbia. His video of an encounter with a staffer at a Money Mart who refused to cash the comedian’s gig cheque has gone viral. Scott who now laughs about the incident, says Money Mart was motivated by prejudice.
Rhoma Spencer isn’t about to spill the beans just yet but she says that there will be a surprise guest on Monday night’s bill. Tickets for the T&T Picong show are $25 each.
