As the Federation of St.Kitts and Nevis gets ready to celebrate its 40th anniversary of Independence in September, it is pushing ahead with its Citizenship by Descent Drive.

The Consulate of St.Kitts and Nevis in Toronto is targetting “1st and 2nd generation Canadians with connections to St Kitts and Nevis” through its citizenship campaign and has extended the deadline for applications to September 22, 2023, said Brenda Foreman, honorary consul.

The Citizenship by Descent Drive aims to create opportunities for youths to strengthen the bond between their birthland and the Federation and contribute to developing a resilient, sustainable island state, she noted.

One applicant for citizenship will have the opportunity to win two airfare tickets to the Federation, accommodation, and excursions while on the islands, the Consulate has announced.

“The draw date” (for the prize) will coincide with the 40th Anniversary of Independence celebrations in September.

Documents and instructions to apply for Citizenship by Descent can be obtained from the St.Kitts-Nevis Consulate.
