SVGTA Welcomes Dr. Kishore Shallow as New Minister of Tourism and Maritime Affairs
The St. Vincent and the Grenadines Tourism Authority (SVGTA) has formally welcomed The Honourable Dr. Kishore Shallow as the newly appointed Minister of Tourism and Maritime Affairs, following the swearing-in of the new Cabinet on December 2, 2025. The Authority extended warm congratulations to Dr. Shallow, expressing confidence that his appointment marks the beginning of an energetic and forward-looking chapter for two of the nation’s most vital sectors.

In its statement, the SVGTA highlighted Dr. Shallow’s strong record of national and regional service, describing him as a leader whose strategic vision, modern outlook, and commitment to transformation will help guide the continued growth of the industry. His background in governance and innovation, the Authority noted, positions him well to advance both tourism and maritime affairs during a period of major expansion.
A significant part of Dr. Shallow’s public profile comes from his distinguished tenure in sports administration. Having served on the Board of Directors of Cricket West Indies (CWI) and later as its President, he played an important role in strengthening the administrative framework of West Indies cricket and expanding its commercial and global visibility. This experience aligns closely with the country’s growing emphasis on sports tourism, an area expected to generate major visitor arrivals through international masters’ competitions, youth development programmes, and upcoming world-class cricket events.
CEO of the Tourism Authority, Annette Mark, expressed enthusiasm for the opportunities ahead, noting that Dr. Shallow’s leadership style reflects the dynamism needed to advance the destination. “His proven leadership, modern outlook, and deep commitment to national transformation align perfectly with the direction in which our tourism product is headed,” she said.
The Authority also offered gratitude to the outgoing minister for years of partnership, including support through periods of global repositioning and innovation that helped strengthen the nation’s tourism presence.
As the 2025–2026 tourism cycle unfolds—with anticipated hotel developments, cultural festivals, new airlift discussions, maritime initiatives, and a renewed focus on immersive visitor experiences—the SVGTA said it looks forward to collaborating closely with Dr. Shallow to build a robust, inclusive, and competitive tourism agenda that benefits all Vincentians and elevates the country’s global visibility.
