
Marie Roze Ramsaroop was born on February 19, 1944, in San Fernando, Trinidad. She moved to Toronto, Canada, in 1969 and died peacefully on November 21, 2021 at her home; she was 77 years old.
Ramsaroop, the wife of famed bandleader Frank Ramsaroop, was surrounded by loved ones in her her last days of life. With her husband Frank and their three children she moved to Mississauga in 1975, a place she proudly called home for the remainder of her life.
Marie is known as the “Queen of Borokeete Canada”, a mas she played for several years. Noted for her mas camp hospitality, Marie made everyone who visited Borokeete camp feel special. She served some of the wonderful dishes for which the camp was famous.
She was a devoted wife to Frankie, her husband of 61 years, and a loving mother to her children Anthony, Andre (Cordia) and Anselm (Valerie), grandchildren Shane, Dominic, Kristen, Khadija, Andrew, Sephora, Marcus and Chase. She absolutely adored her great- granddaughter Alaiyah Marie.
