Magnet, a Centre of Innovation based at Toronto Metropolitan University, has named two new members to its Advisory Board as it prepares for a new phase of growth and long-term planning. Among them is Tiffany Callender, Co-Founder and CEO of the Federation of African Canadian Economics (FACE), a leading figure in inclusive economic development.

Callender, alongside Jamie Savage, Founder and CEO of The Leadership Agency, joins the board as Magnet concludes the term of its inaugural advisory team. Executive Director Mark Patterson described the transition as a key moment for the organization, which aims to strengthen Canada’s workforce through technology, partnerships, and inclusive strategies.

“We are grateful for the dedication and insights of our inaugural Advisory Board members,” Patterson said. “As we look ahead, Jamie and Tiffany bring invaluable expertise and bold leadership that will help chart the course for Magnet’s next strategic plans.”

Callender has long been a national voice advocating for equity in economic development. Her work at FACE has focused on supporting Black entrepreneurs and creating sustainable pathways to success for underrepresented communities. Her appointment is seen as a significant step toward embedding those principles more deeply into Magnet’s future initiatives.

Savage, meanwhile, brings a strong background in talent acquisition and organizational leadership, particularly in helping companies scale during periods of rapid growth. Her industry expertise will support Magnet’s mission to build stronger connections between employers and talent across the country.

Magnet’s Advisory Board plays a central role in shaping the organization’s programs and guiding its evolving role in Canada’s labour market. As Magnet looks toward its next chapter, both new and continuing members will help ensure its focus remains aligned with real-world workforce needs.
