
Toronto businessman Mohammad Zahid Malik who had been suffering with oral cancer, died at Sunnybrook hospital in Toronto on Thursday. He was 52.
Malik was born in Pakistan and came to Canada as a teenager in 1993.
He owned Active Marketplace, a flea market in Ajax, as well as several other businesses in the Greater Toronto Area.
“Dad had big plans for the market,” said his daughter, Jeanette.
“However, business will continue as usual,” she added.
Malik leaves his wife, Iram, his son, Zain and his daughters Sehar and Jeanette.
A funeral service for the late Mohammad Zahid Malik was held at the Makham Islamic Centre last Thursday.
