The 3rd annual Trinbago Festival is set to light up Nathan Phillips Square in a celebration of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture, food, and music. The festival, which has grown rapidly since its inception, will welcome an expected crowd of 30,000 visitors to experience the richness of Trinbagonian traditions.
After outgrowing its previous location at Yonge-Dundas Square, the festival has moved to the Nathan Phillips Square, a space that will better accommodate the festival’s expanding audience.
“It’s an honour to host this year’s event at Nathan Phillips Square,” said Pet Marchan, founder of Palo Seco Events Group.
“The outpouring of support from the Trinbagonian community and people across Ontario is what makes Toronto the best city to celebrate diversity.”
This year’s festival promises an even bigger and better experience. In addition to a larger Carib Beer garden, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy a wide array of food and craft vendors offering everything from doubles and roti to corn soup. For entertainment, an exciting lineup of performers will keep the crowd energized. Fire Eater, Chris Precious, is set to dazzle audiences once again, while the Dance Caribe group will bring traditional costumes and infectious energy to the stage.
The highlight of the festival will be the performance of Mical Teja, the 2024 Road Monarch of Trinidad Carnival, who will headline the event with his hit song “DNA.” His presence is sure to be a crowd-pleaser, adding to the festival’s electrifying atmosphere.
Produced by Palo Seco Events Group, the Trinbago Festival is more than just a celebration. In partnership with the Consulate General of Trinidad and Tobago, it supports the Caribbean Scholarship Foundation, helping to create opportunities for youth in the Caribbean diaspora.
With its blend of culture, food, and community spirit, the Trinbago Festival continues to be a major highlight of Toronto’s summer festival season.
