Trinidad and Tobago Red Steel defeated Jamaica Tallawahs by seven runs in the 29th match of the Hero Caribbean Premier League last Sunday at Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain to secure a spot in the semi-finals.
T&T Red Steel elected to bat first and scored 145 for three wickets in their 20 overs with former South Africa allrounder J. Kallis not out on 61 and skipper D.J Bravo undefeated on 49.
Jamaica Tallawahs in reply scored 138 for nine wickets in their 20 overs with A .D. Russell topscoring with 36. S. Badree picked up three for 35.
Points table as of matches played last Sunday: Barbados Tridents 12, T&T Red Steel 11, Guyana Amazon Warriors 9, Jamaica Tallawahs 9, St. Lucia Zouks 9, and St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots 8.
Guyana Amazon Warriors and T&T Red Steel played the 30th and final match of the tournament last Tuesday at Guyana National Stadium.
The first semi-final is scheduled for today (July 23) at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad.
