Kya Publishing, in association with Toronto Public Library, held a successful second-annual Toronto Urban Book Expo (TUBE) last Saturday at the Malvern branch.
“We had a very excellent mix of literary and entertainment today,” said Kya Publishing founder Stacey Marie Robinson. “Kya Publishing is Canada’s only dedicated urban fiction publisher and we are committed to the celebration of contemporary Canadian urban fiction and culture through books, research, events and community initiatives.”
She said partial proceeds from TUBE will go to the Rita Cox Endowment Fund for Black and Caribbean heritage in support of the Rita Cox Caribbean Heritage Collection Foundation at the Toronto Public Library. Proceeds will also support Kya Publishing’s Kya Keys Book Donation Program.
Robinson said a book donation drive will start this spring to support those in the correctional system.
