Visiting Games athletes bring taste of Jamaica

With a little over two months to the official opening of Toronto 2015 Pan Am / Parapan Am Games, the Jamaican team is finalizing preparations for their visit here in July.

The island’s Tourist Board says Jamaica House Toronto will be home base for their athletes, Jamaicans and friends of Jamaica from July 20 to 24 at Atlantis at Ontario Place.

Philip Rose, regional director of Canada for the Jamaica Tourist Board, said, “Jamaica is known around the world for her sport, music and cuisine and we’re looking forward to bringing five days of island excitement and sports enthusiasm to the City of Toronto and the Pan Am Games experience.

“We are also using this opportunity to raise awareness of travel to Jamaica and will have travel information and special packages available to Jamaica House guests.”

Jamaica House Toronto will be organized by Toronto-based events company JACANA Group with the Jamaica Tourist Board as title sponsor. Visitors to Jamaica House can expect to rub shoulders with Jamaican athletes, enjoy traditional Jamaican cuisine, music and entertainment and celebrate alongside Jamaicans and fans of Jamaica.
