Celebrating Black excellence and resilience, Walmart Canada has  selected Scarborough artist Kwame Delfish to design exclusive merchandise for Black History Month.

The items featuring “The Tree of Heroes” design, includes reusable bags and t-shirts which will be available in select Walmart stores across Canada.

Proceeds from the sales will support the Black Business and Professionals Association (BBPA) in their work in the community.

Delfish, the creative director at The Blak Brush, noted that The Black Maple tree depicted in his artwork symbolizes strength, resilience and the duality of adversity and success within Black identity.

The collage of images within the foliage represents Black individuals overcoming challenges and achieving empowering milestones, fostering a sense of belonging and cultural pride, he said.
