The West Indies presidential election will be held this Saturday (March 7) at Kingston, Jamaica.

Current President Dave Cameron, 44, a Jamaican, is seeking a second two-year term. His only challenger is Joel Garner, the former West Indies fast bowler and now president of Barbados Cricket Association.

Cameron was elected president in March 2013 when he defeated Julian Hunte, to whom he was vice-president for six years.

Garner was nominated by Barbados Cricket Association and seconded by Trinidad & Tobago Cricket Board while Cameron was nominated by Guyana Cricket Board and seconded by Windward Islands Cricket Board. The other voters are Leeward Islands Cricket Board and Jamaican Cricket Board.
