West Indies one-day squad vs Bangladesh
The West Indies Cricket Board Selectors on Saturday announced a 13-member squad for the three One-Day Internationals (ODI) in the Dhaka Bank Cup home series against Bangladesh, which starts on Aug. 20 at the National Cricket Stadium in St. George’s, Grenada.
The full squad: Dwayne Bravo (Captain), Darren Bravo, Kirk Edwards, Christopher Gayle, Jason Holder, Nikita Miller, Sunil Narine, Kieron Pollard, Denesh Ramdin, Ravi Rampaul, Kemar Roach, Darren Sammy and Lendi Simmons.
The second ODI will be played on Aug. 22 at the same venue, and third on Aug. 25 at Warner Park, Basseterre in St. Kitts.
The West Indies will play Bangladesh in the only T20I on Aug. 27 in St. Kitts and two Test matches. The first Test starts on Sept. 5-9 at the Arnos Vale Ground, Kingstown, St. Vincent and the second on Sept. 13-17 at Beausejour Stadium, Gros Islet, St. Lucia.
The new selection panel is expected to name the Test squad sometime during the week.
In other regional cricket news, Barbados Tridents defeated defending champions Jamaica Tallawahs by 88 runs in the final match of the Limacol Caribbean Premier League last Sunday in St Kitts, and ended at the top of the points table with 12 points and a Net RR +0.860. Guyana Amazon Warriors came second; Trinidad & Tobago Red Steel third and Jamaica Tallawahs fourth, with the same results but a different Net RR.
The first Semi-Final was played on Aug. 13 between Tallawahs and Red Steel and the second on Aug. 14 between the winner and Guyana Amazon Warriors.
The winner will play the Barbados Tridents on Saturday, Aug. 16 in the Grand Final in St. Kitts.
