Williams officiates at Women’s T20 qualifiers

West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) announced last Monday that female umpire Jacqueline Williams has been appointed to the panel of match officials for the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 qualifiers which starts this weekend in Thailand.
The 39-year-old Williams from Jamaica will officiate at the tournament which will be contested from Saturday (Nov. 28 to Dec. 5) in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
In the opening match Thailand Women will play Bangladesh Women at the Thailand Cricket Ground, Bangkok, in Match One Group A of the tournament.
Williams recently made her international debut, when she stood in the first one-day and first Twenty20 International during the Pakistan Women’s Tour of the West Indies.
On her return from Bangkok, Williams will create history when she becomes the first female umpire to officiate in the WICB Regional 4-Day Tournament. She is scheduled to stand in the middle with international umpire Peter Nero for the fifth round match in the Professional League between host Jamaica Scorpions and Guyana Jaguars from Dec. 11-14 at Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica.
