Windies A Team to play South Africa

West Indies Under-19 players Shimron Hetmyer and fast bowler Alzarri Joseph have been selected to the 13-man West Indies A Team squad, announced last week by the WICB Selectors, to play the visiting South African team in a day / night 50-over one-day match at Queen’s Park Oval, Trinidad, on Saturday (May 29) starting at 1 p.m.

Hetmyer, the talented Guyanese Under-19 left-handed batsman was the captain and Antiguan pacer Alzarri Joseph was the leading fast bowler in the West Indies Under-19 team which won the ICC Under-19 World Cup in Bangladesh in February.

The West Indies A team will be led by Barbados and West Indies Test opening batsman Kraigg Brathwaithe.

South Africa are using the match as part of their preparation for the upcoming Tri-Nation ODI Series between Australia and host West Indies.
